Hello Readers!
Have you ever been in class listening to a teacher talk and click through a slide show on a powerpoint presentation with a bunch of words and you had to copy what the teacher was talking about....
BLAH BLAH BLAHHH I am going to stop right there! I know we have all been there and trust me as a future educator looking back on how I was taught I know I don't want to be that teacher who teaches slide to slide. I am the type of person who is a kid at heart (it might be because I am the size of one too)! I want to create lessons that are engaging and fun for my students! Teaching is my passion and why waste that passion through boring posts?
How can we make our lessons more exciting?
One way to do this is by creating a digital story and it can be told through pictures. We all know the saying a picture is worth a thousand words so why not take advantage of that and teach using pictures! Below I have created a story about an adventure I went on in Dorset, Muskoka. Such a beautiful place, if you have never been it is worth the trip! This adventure not only tells a story about an adventure I went on it expresses my love for the great outdoors, nature, as well as what we did and saw! Check out my digital story below:
What did you think? Did I convince you to take a road trip to Muskoka or what? Now I better not see anymore boring lessons, we have the tools and resources to create our lessons and make them interesting for our students. This not only relates to a variety of different types of learners but also is a fun way to show off our tech skills! We are living in the 21st century might as well embrace it! One tip I want you to take away from this blog post is if you can't find the resource become the resource!
Cheers!
I loved that trip! Wonderful post, Miss. Harris!
